Location: AWE Aldermaston, Reading

Contract: Contract

Duration: 12 months minimum, with the potential for extension

Start Date: ASAP

Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 9-day fortnight (75 hours over 2 weeks)

Hours: 7:40am–4:30pm

Pay Model: CIS

Clearance: DV preferred; SC candidates considered subject to willingness to undergo DV clearance

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Health Physics Surveyor to support operations at AWE Aldermaston on a long term contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting operatives and carrying out Health Physics monitoring within Excluded Areas, ensuring activities are completed safely and in line with site and nuclear safety requirements.

  • NVQ or City & Guilds qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong understanding of Health Physics and radiation protection requirements.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively within a highly regulated environment.
  • DV Clearance is preferred. Candidates holding SC Clearance may be considered, provided they are willing and eligible to undergo the DV clearance process.

Overtime may be available, subject to project requirements:

  • Time and a half – non‑working Friday/Saturday
  • Double time – Sunday
