Production Shift Supervisor

Scantec Recruitment is partnering with a leading Food Manufacturing company in Manchester to find a dedicated Production Shift Supervisor for their production team. This well-established business supplies high-quality food products to a broad customer base. It offers excellent career development opportunities, including external management training courses.

Reporting to the Production Shift Manager, your role will focus on leading operating teams to achieve key performance indicators related to Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People.

Hours / Shifts: One week of Day shifts followed by one week of Night shifts (6am – 6pm / 6pm – 6am). Up to 4 shifts per week, from Sunday to Thursday, with a rota\’d day off. (More details on shift rota will be provided during the telephone screening.)

Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example, setting performance, behavior, and values standards across your team.
  • Support staffing plans and optimize staffing levels during seasonal peaks and troughs.
  • Oversee team performance against KPIs such as yield, waste, product quality, and line efficiency.
  • Lead daily huddles, team briefs, and handovers to ensure effective communication.
  • Promote training and development by mentoring new starters and upskilling team members.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives using A3 methodology and structured problem-solving.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, and GMP standards at all times.
  • Maintain and monitor your team\’s skills matrix, supporting succession planning.
  • Participate actively in site environmental and sustainability initiatives.

We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor or Leader with a background in fast-paced manufacturing or production environments, preferably within food or FMCG sectors. You should have a proven track record of motivating teams to exceed KPIs and be comfortable with standard routines and structured continuous improvement methodologies.
