Job Title: Production Artworker

The Production Artworker is responsible for ensuring all artwork is ready for production. This includes:

  1. Outputting films, transfers, embroidery programmes, and work orders.
  2. Monitoring and updating the production schedule, liaising with production to overcome potential problems.
  3. Scheduling and prioritising work to ensure KPIs are achieved and all production targets are adhered to.
  4. Outputting films, embroidery run sheets, and transfers for the production process.
  5. Signing off all artwork for production.
  6. Utilising Promo Office to print all production documentation required on the factory floor.
  7. Communicating with production personnel on job progress and potential production problems.
  8. Reporting any technical and processing issues to the relevant person/company.
  9. Retrieving artwork files on the company’s computer systems.
  10. Communicating with outside suppliers as required.
  11. Operating the DTG machine, understanding how to load images ready for printing.
  12. Understanding software settings before pressing print on the DTG.
  13. Understanding all print settings on the DTG.
  14. Digital transfer and sublimation application.
  15. Monitoring processed work during production and reporting all potential quality issues.
  16. Working from Custom Gateway to prepare all artwork required.
  17. Ensuring the department’s hardware is kept up to date and all issues are reported to the manager.
  18. Keeping all machine maintenance up to date and logged.
  19. Ensuring the work area is kept tidy and in line with the company’s safety policies.
  20. Raising all work-related issues/concerns with the department manager.
  21. Undertaking any reasonable tasks assigned.
  22. Dropping into other departments and completing reasonable requests from the department manager.
  23. Preparing proofs to send to clients for approval.
  24. Liaising with customers via telephone and email regarding amendments to artwork proofs.
  25. Using a supplied brief to mock-up creative designs.
  26. Ensuring phone manner and emails align with the company’s policies.
  27. Advising customers on preferred artwork types and any technical issues.
  28. Training others when called upon.
  29. Working towards and communicating continuous improvements in areas of work.
  30. Actively working within a team to generate the required performances.

Requirements:

  1. Experience with graphic design software and image editing tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop).
  2. Able to use standard computer systems.
  3. Solid knowledge of the printing process and preflight tools (e.g., Adobe Acrobat & RIP Software).
  4. An ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and meet production deadlines.
  5. Keen attention to detail.
  6. Target-driven to enable production targets to be met and surpassed.
  7. Flexible in learning and tasks.
  8. Able to work effectively within teams but can work alone if required.
  9. Able to communicate verbally, via email, and telephone between departments while maintaining proper working relations with customers.
  10. Able to regularly alternate between sitting and standing positions and move consistently throughout the day due to the nature of the role.
  11. Capable of problem-solving and breaking down issues logically.
  12. Able to work under pressure due to tight timelines and production needs based on the nature of the business.
