Operational Support

  • Daily engagement with workshop supervisor and shift leads, building collaborative relationships, ensuring resource allocation is evenly balanced between S J Bargh and external customers.
  • Monitor the Service reception function and assist the Customer Service Advisor with queries or opportunities.
  • Ensure Scania booking processes are followed.
  • Upsell Scania products, utilise fixed-price repairs and special offers to engage current customers and attract new customers.
  • Engage with Scania account managers for technical assistance and help with claims; contact Scania workshops for updates on internal contracts and contract inclusions.
  • Ensure a smooth flow of job cards to invoicing teams, ensuring a consistent level of WIP within the required criteria are effectively managed.
  • Assist R&M and Warranty Administrator with technical queries to increase positive data entry and reduce rejected claims.
  • Support management meetings and Scania representatives to discuss performance and discrepancies in operational procedures.
  • Deliver customer satisfaction and act on any urgent demands from SJB.

Staff Management

  • Assess and agree appropriate Scania product training by conducting 1-2-1 discussions with workshop staff to evaluate current skill levels and build training program to develop professional growth in line with Scania DOS.
  • Provide feedback to workshop staff to promote professional growth.
  • Measure and report technical efficiency ensuring systems around clock in-off jobs are delivered to maximise workshop hours.
  • Investigate MOT failures and report findings to National Fleet Manager and external retail customers.
  • Recruit to budget headcount.

Safety and Compliance

  • Monitor safety standards and ensure workshops comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Report potential risks through monthly workshop inspections and monitor ISO requirements and updates.
  • Attend site health and safety meetings and ensure any actions highlighted are addressed in the workshop.
  • Assist the National Fleet Engineering Manager to keep Scania workshops compliant with special tooling, workwear, service literature and data entry; appearance, floors, walls etc. are maintained periodically to ensure compliance with expected DOS.
  • Collaborate with external advisory bodies regarding tachograph and authorised testing facilities for safety and standards.
  • Act on any Transport Management requests to assist compliance measures.
  • Monitor inspection documents ensuring sign off in R2C daily and upload data into AXSCEND.
  • Manage and control TruTac defect rectification, ensuring all team members are onboard with site procedures to safeguard the operation from authorities.
  • As a TM, manage the undertakings of two operating centres within SJ Bargh Ltd and attend monthly meetings.
  • Ensure vehicles and trailers are serviced in line with SJB operating licence obligations and government principles.

Budgeting and Financial Management

  • Monitor expenses and implement cost efficiencies without affecting standards or customer service.
  • Assist with monitoring third-party and subcontractor costs to ensure cost efficiency and standards.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate with transport departments twice daily to align workshop operations with overall business requirements and strategies.
  • Provide regular updates to management on workshop performance and operational challenges.
  • Assist accounts with wage and clocking queries.

Training and Development

  • Participate in Scania events and courses aimed at improving brand and technical knowledge.
  • Mentor, coach and develop your team and highlight future growth opportunities to advance skillsets.
