Location: This is a Hybrid role covering Scania’s Southwest region, including additional Business Partnering support to our Head of Customer Workshops (DCW). You will be based from Scania Avonmouth (BS11 8BD) responsible for the below branches: Southwest: Avonmouth, Bridgwater, Redruth, Shepton Mallett and Exeter. Additional DCW Support when required: Worksop, Thurrock, Andover, Newhouse (Motherwell).

As People Business Partner you will play a pivotal role in continuing to ensure the Scania culture allows our people and customers to thrive. The People Business Partner role is both varied and dynamic, requiring the ability to balance a complex employee relations (ER) caseload with strategic, hands-on support to the region(s) you partner with. In addition to regional responsibilities, you’ll collaborate on cross-functional projects with People & Culture colleagues and key stakeholders across Scania. A critical aspect of this role is the ability to analyse data and management information (MI), identify trends, and translate insights into meaningful action.
In this role, you will:
- Focus on all aspects of the colleague life cycle from onboarding, workforce planning, reward and recognition, as well as talent & succession.
- Support in the delivery of a seamless colleague experience.
- Provide commercially focused advice and support to managers on complex employee relations issues.
- Support & coach People Managers in the skills to develop and engage colleagues, including effective performance & development discussions.
- Regular and routine branch visits across your region, building meaningful relationships.
- Monitor and report on relevant KPIs, including turnover levels, annual colleague survey participation and overall index.
- Take on a lead role in the team for People-related projects.
About you:
- Passionate about people and obsessed with maintaining and creating a culture where colleagues and customers thrive.
- Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and best practice.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels within the organisation.
- Experience of partnering and/or supporting managers in an HR role.
- Experience in supporting the delivery of strategic change in an HR role.
- Focussed on improving and simplifying processes, making the People team easy to work with.
- Courage and confidence to challenge and develop people managers in a constructive way.
- CIPD level 5 or qualified by experience.
