Location: Field based with occasional travel to our Training Academy in Milton Keynes (Scania UK Learning Academy)

Working hours: Monday to Friday

Summary

Scania GB have an exciting opportunity for a Field based Technical training instructor to join our people development team. The successful candidate will come from an automotive technical background and will have an excellent working knowledge of the automotive industry and current training methodology. The instructor will be delivering our bespoke technical training programme, while ensuring high levels of knowledge and skills transfer, competence, and customer satisfaction. This role will be split delivering training at our Branches nationwide and from our new state-of-the-art Academy in Milton Keynes from around September 2026 with interim travel to Loughborough (current Academy) until the move.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver training both from the Academy and regionally when required.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs, covering a wide range of automotive technical subjects. Face to Face, remotely or through a blended learning approach.
  • Utilise a range of Training methods to engage learners, ensuring that the content is accessible and adaptable to all learning styles and backgrounds.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive atmosphere within the classroom and workshop environment, encouraging participation and collaboration among all delegates.
  • Stay updated with the latest automotive technologies, industry trends, and best practices, to continuously enhance the Training curriculum.
  • Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and mentorship to delegates, developing them in their technical problem-solving abilities.
  • Collaborate with the wider People Development team to assess the effectiveness of training programmes and implement improvements, based on feedback and performance evaluations.
  • Creating an engaging learning environment, inspiring, guiding and challenging colleagues to develop their competences, skills, and behaviours.
  • Coaching colleagues to make the most of their qualities and competences to accomplish tasks, solve problems and increase their knowledge.
  • Deliver the latest technical learning programme, both theoretical and practical whilst ensuring excellent Health & Safety standards are maintained, as well as being a role model for the Scania prestige and premium look-and-feel.
  • Work closely and in good spirit with the wider People Development team, creating a culture of trust and excellence, developing training linked to new and existing standards and integrating new training courses in the technical training programme.

  • Clear communicator – clearly communicating with stakeholders, delegates, and the training team.
  • Technical knowledge – a proven record of Technical Training within a Technical environment.
  • Experience and qualifications working as a technician – looking to make a move into training.
  • HGV experience is desirable but not essential.
