We're looking for an

IT Operations Manager who would rather fix a problem for good than just close the ticket.

You'll join a small, hands-on IT team where no two days look the same: one hour you're helping a colleague who's locked out of their laptop, the next you're working out how to connect a brand-new tool to our identity platform.

If you're curious, love solving problems, and want a role where you'll be trusted to figure things out rather than stay in your lane, we'd love to talk.

About the Role

As an

IT Operations Manager , you'll be one of the go-to people keeping Scandit's colleagues productive across our offices worldwide.

You'll work in a lean IT team alongside one other IT engineer, reporting to our Head of IT & Security.

Because the team is small, you'll handle the full range of IT work, from first-line requests through to third-line problem solving.

Your primary focus will be delivering responsive, effective service desk support and helping colleagues get back to work quickly.

Beyond day-to-day support, you'll contribute to IT operations for company events, tidy up and improve systems, and take ownership of short-term projects.

This isn't a people-management role.

It's a hands-on, varied role for a proactive IT generalist/engineer/expert who enjoys solving problems at their root, improving systems, and finding ways to prevent recurring issues rather than simply fixing them.

What You Will Do

  • Providing first-, second- and third-line support through our service desk (Zendesk), from password resets to troubleshooting complex, cross-system issues
  • Administering Google Workspace, our core identity and productivity platform, and others like Slack, Zoom, Miro etc.
  • Managing our Saa S estate: setting up SSO integrations with Google and handling user provisioning and deprovisioning for tools without SSO
  • Managing end-user devices: Macs via Jamf, Windows via Google endpoint management, and helping bring our Linux devices under management
  • Spotting recurring IT issues, investigating their root causes, and implementing lasting solutions that improve the employee experience.
  • Supporting employee onboarding and offboarding, including laptop provisioning, account setup, access management, and device recovery.
  • Providing hands-on IT and AV support for company events, including the annual company kickoff, with potential travel to Zurich and other office locations.
  • Reviewing and updating existing IT configurations, improving documentation, and ensuring systems are well maintained and follow best practices.
  • Leading and contributing to IT projects, such as evaluating and rolling out a new device management solution.

Who You Are

We care more about curiosity and drive than years on a CV.

You might have a year or two of experience in a startup or scale-up where you've been exposed to a bit of everything, or a few more years in a larger organisation where you've actively gone beyond your core remit.

Either way, you genuinely enjoy IT and keep learning, and you don't believe in "not my job".

  • Hands-on experience in an IT support or service desk role, ideally covering more than first-line support
  • Experience administering Google Workspace or a similar platform (e. g. Microsoft 365) and common Saa S tools
  • Confidence supporting mac OS and Windows users and devices
  • Familiarity with a ticketing system (Zendesk or similar)
  • A practical problem-solving approach: you can work out how to fix something you haven't seen before
  • A clear passion for IT and continuous learning, whether through certifications, side projects, a home lab or self-study
  • Strong communication skills and ability to break down complex technical circumstances in a comprehensible manner for less technical minded people.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Eligible to work in Finland, Poland or the UK, and able to work regularly from our Tampere, Warsaw or London office

Nice to Have

  • Experience with an MDM solution such as Jamf
  • Exposure to SSO and user provisioning (SAML, SCIM)
  • Scripting or automation skills (e. g. Bash, Python, Google Apps Script)
  • Experience supporting AV and IT for events
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude or Chat GPT, and an interest in exploring their potential for troubleshooting, automation, and improving IT workflows.

What We Offer

  • Here are some of the reasons people choose to build their career at Scandit:
  • Certified as a Great Place To Work for four years in a row
  • Rated 4/5 by our employees on Glassdoor
  • Access to Claude Cowork and Claude Code, plus a budget to experiment with other AI tools
  • Weekly “How to Use AI” sessions and internal AI Champions to help turn your ideas into reality
  • A share in our success through an individual equity plan
  • Extra days off on top of your annual leave
  • Office shutdown days, global team events and innovation hackathons

Plus specific benefits depending on the location you are joining.

At Scandit we strive to create an inclusive environment that empowers our employees.

How to prepare for a job interview at Scandit

✨Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

✨Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

✨Know the Business Impact of IT Solutions

When discussing your experiences, focus not just on the tech solutions you implemented, but also on their business impact. Employers want to see that you can connect IT with organisational goals. Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.

✨Prepare for Behavioural Questions

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
