Scan You Later is a specialist reality capture and digital recording company, led by Chartered Architects and Chartered Building Engineers. We work across the UK using 3D laser scanning and reality capture technology to create accurate digital records of existing buildings and sites.
Due to an increasing workload, we are looking for an experienced Scan-to-BIM Revit Technician to join our remote team. The role will primarily involve working from point cloud data to produce accurate Revit models and architectural drawing packages. Projects vary considerably in scale, age and complexity, so we are looking for someone who is confident interpreting survey data and accurately modelling existing buildings rather than working from assumed or proposed geometry.
The role will include:
- Creating Revit models directly from point cloud data
- Producing plans, elevations, sections and as-built drawing packages
- Interpreting complex and irregular existing building geometry
- Working with large point cloud datasets and associated reality capture information
- Incorporating drone-derived survey data into point cloud workflows
- Checking models and drawings for accuracy and consistency
- Working with our surveying, architectural and building engineering teams
Previous experience modelling point clouds in Revit is essential. Applicants should have strong Revit skills, a good understanding of building construction and existing building fabric, and excellent attention to detail. Experience with FARO platforms, particularly FARO Sphere XG, would be an advantage. Experience operating 3D laser scanning equipment would also be useful, although this is not essential. We would also be interested in applicants who have experience working with drone data within point cloud and reality capture workflows.
The role is fully remote, but applicants must currently be resident in the UK. We are open to either a freelance arrangement or an initial 3-month contract, with the opportunity for this to develop into a permanent position. Rate/salary will be dependent on experience.
