Trusted accuracy. Real construction knowledge. Scan You Later is a specialist reality capture and digital recording company, led by chartered Architects and building engineers. We deliver high-accuracy spatial data that can be confidently reused throughout design, coordination, construction and estate management.

We are seeking an experienced Architectural Revit/CAD Technician with a strong background in point cloud modelling (Scan-to-BIM). This role sits at the core of our workflow, transforming laser scan and reality capture data into reliable, construction-ready BIM models and drawing outputs. This position is fully remote, with flexibility for either permanent employment or freelance engagement, making it ideal for candidates seeking long-term stability or flexible project-based work.

The Role

You will work directly with point cloud data captured through laser scanning, 360° imagery and digital twin workflows, producing models and drawings that reflect what actually exists on site, not assumptions. Your work will support:

  • Architects and consultants during design and coordination
  • Contractors during construction staging and verification
  • Clients requiring accurate as-built records and portfolio digitisation

Key Responsibilities

  • Create accurate Revit BIM models directly from point cloud data
  • Interpret scan data and site conditions with a construction-aware mindset
  • Produce plans, sections, elevations and as-built drawings
  • Develop models aligned with scanyou later’s “capture once, reuse with confidence” principle
  • Support Scan-to-BIM, model verification and as-built workflows
  • Assist with projects involving construction staging, progress capture and validation
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, clarity and documentation

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience modelling point clouds in Revit
  • Strong working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
  • Solid understanding of building construction, detailing and UK regulations
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with laser scanning or reality capture outputs
  • Familiarity with Scan-to-BIM standards, LOD/LOI and model verification
  • Experience using Vectorworks
  • Background in architectural technology, surveying or digital construction
  • Experience working with complex, existing or damaged buildings

What We Offer

  • Fully remote role working on UK-based projects
  • Permanent or freelance contract options
  • Competitive salary or day rate (depending on contract type and experience)
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Opportunity to work on technically challenging, real-world projects
  • A specialist team that values accuracy, construction knowledge and usable data
  • Exposure to advanced reality capture and digital twin workflows
