We are seeking experienced Manufacturing Quality Inspectors with strong expertise in PCB inspection and ECSS standards to support a leading aerospace and defence programme. This role will focus on ensuring that electronic assemblies meet stringent quality and compliance standards within a high-reliability manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspection of PCB assemblies to ECSS and IPC standards
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of electronic components
- Identify defects in soldering, assembly, and component placement
- Ensure compliance with European Cooperation for Space Standardisation (ECSS) requirements
- Support incoming, in-process, and final inspections
- Record inspection results and maintain accurate quality documentation
- Raise non-conformance reports (NCRs) and support root cause analysis
- Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams
- Ensure adherence to aerospace quality standards and procedures
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quality Inspector in electronics manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of PCB assembly processes
- Soldering standards (IPC-A-610 or similar)
- Experience working with ECSS standards (essential)
- Background in aerospace, defence, or high-reliability industries
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
- Experience with inspection tools and measurement equipment
- Close attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset
- Desirable IPC certification (e.g. IPC-A-610)
- Experience in cleanroom or controlled environments
- Familiarity with AIT (Assembly, Integration)
