- We are looking for an experienced
Supplier Development Manager to support a major programme within the Space sector.
You will be responsible for managing and developing key suppliers, ensuring technically complex equipment and work packages are delivered on time, on cost and on quality .
The role will involve working closely with suppliers and internal Engineering, Quality, Procurement and Programme teams to identify risks, resolve issues and maintain supply-chain performance.
You should have
- Strong experience within the
Space sector , ideally working with space hardware/equipment supply chains.
- Working knowledge of
ECSS standards and their application within space programmes.
- Strong knowledge of
APQP and PPAP and their use within supplier development / supply-chain quality.
- Experience managing technical work packages and supplier deliverables.
- Demonstrable experience improving supplier performance across quality, cost and delivery.
- Experience managing suppliers through
NPI industrialisation/manufacture/test and delivery environments.
- Strong understanding of supply-chain risk management and supplier recovery.
- Experience working with engineering, quality/product assurance, procurement and programme teams.
- Ability to challenge suppliers constructively and drive corrective actions through to closure.
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to operate autonomously within a complex, matrixed programme environment.
- Willingness to travel to Oxford and supplier sites when required.

This isn't a traditional purchasing role. We're looking for someone who understands the technical supply chain within
Space and is comfortable getting into the detail with suppliers β understanding what is preventing delivery, identifying risk, challenging recovery plans and bringing Engineering, Quality, Procurement and Programme stakeholders together to get a work package back on track.
