Specialist Glass & Metal is part of Specialist Group, delivering bespoke architectural metalwork, glazing, and specialist interior fit-out packages across commercial, hospitality, retail, and workplace projects.

Working closely with our joinery and interior fit-out teams, we create high-quality, integrated solutions that combine great design, manufacturing expertise, and exceptional project delivery. As our project portfolio continues to grow, we're looking for a Project Design Coordinator to join the team and help deliver projects from initial design through to manufacture and installation.

This is a varied role that sits at the heart of our projects, connecting design, manufacturing, and project delivery teams. You'll work closely with project teams, designers, manufacturing teams, suppliers, and clients to help coordinate projects, manage information, and support the successful delivery of our glass and metal packages.

This opportunity would suit someone with experience in design, technical coordination, project administration, construction, manufacturing, or a similar environment. If you're organised, enjoy working with people, and like seeing projects come together, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Coordinating project information from design through to manufacture and installation.
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, and project information.
  • Working with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop practical, buildable solutions.
  • Managing drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
  • Tracking project progress and supporting programme delivery.
  • Coordinating activities across design, procurement, manufacturing, and installation teams.
  • Communicating progress updates, actions, and key information to project teams.
  • Helping identify and resolve issues before they impact delivery.
  • Supporting manufacturing and procurement teams by ensuring information is complete and accurate.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive, and enjoys working collaboratively. You may already have experience in project coordination, design, manufacturing, construction, engineering, or another technical environment.

You’ll likely bring:

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence working with a range of people and teams.
  • An ability to understand and work with technical information and drawings.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

It would be beneficial, but not essential, if you have experience within glass, metalwork, joinery, manufacturing, fit-out, or construction environments, or have used design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or Revit.

Why Join Specialist Glass & Metal?

You’ll join a growing business delivering exciting and varied projects, working alongside experienced project leaders, designers, and manufacturing teams. You'll gain exposure to the full project lifecycle while developing both your technical and project management skills. This role offers excellent opportunities for development and progression into senior design coordination, project management, and leadership positions within Specialist Group.

If you're interested in this role but don't meet every requirement, we'd still encourage you to apply. We value attitude, organisation, and a willingness to learn just as much as direct industry experience.
