As Assistant Accountant, you'll become an integral part of a close-knit finance team, supporting day-to-day financial operations, maintaining accurate reporting, and contributing to the continued growth of an exciting, purpose-driven business.
The Role
Reporting into the Finance team, you'll be responsible for ensuring smooth financial operations across sales, purchasing, reconciliations, reporting and compliance while supporting wider commercial decision-making.
Key responsibilities include
- Processing daily sales orders and customer invoices
- Managing purchase orders, supplier invoices and statement reconciliations
- Preparing VAT and statutory returns
- Completing bank reconciliations
- Supporting weekly, monthly and year-end accounts processes
- Assisting with management accounts and financial reporting
- Monitoring supplier pricing and product costs
- Supporting process improvements and finance projects
- Maintaining financial administration and compliance
What We're Looking For
You’ll ideally have
- Qualified Accounting Technician (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years’ experience within a busy finance or accounts environment
- Strong experience using
- Xero
- Experience preparing VAT returns (including Republic of Ireland VAT)
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
- Confident communication skills with internal teams, suppliers and customers
Desirable experience includes
- Dext
- Stock management systems
- Engineering, manufacturing or technical environments
