Ready to be part of Europe's finance revolution? We're transforming how startups manage their finances - and we want you to help shape that future. Every startup founder has a moment when financial complexity threatens to derail their vision - brilliant minds get lost in spreadsheets instead of building breakthrough products. That's the problem we solve.
This isn't your typical finance role. Our Assistant Management Accountant enables the data that founders rely on for critical decisions, working alongside experienced Finance Business Partners and CFO Partners in a collaborative environment.
The role
This is a step-up role. You've been doing the real work of month-end - posting prepayments, accruals and deferred revenue journals, owning parts of the process - and you're ready to grow into fuller ownership. We'll give you that ownership progressively, with support around you while you build it. You'll join a team of finance professionals working across a portfolio of startup clients - from AI companies scaling internationally to consumer brands preparing for their Series A. We don't hand new joiners our most complex clients on day one: we look at your strengths and experience, match you to clients accordingly.
What you'll be doing:
- Running ongoing operational finance for your clients: bookkeeping, payments, journals and invoicing
- Delivering month-end processes: prepayments, accruals, deferred revenue, balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting our Finance Business Partners and CFO Partners with robust management reporting that founders rely on for real decisions
- Handling day-to-day client queries directly, with experienced colleagues behind you for the complex ones
- Helping improve our internal processes and controls - if you spot a better way of doing something, we want to hear it
- Exploring new financial and accounting tools that can automate work for our clients
What you'll bring
- Hands-on month-end experience: you've posted prepayment, accrual and deferred revenue journals yourself, even if someone else owned the overall process
- Around 2-3 years in a management accounts or similar finance role
- Experience with Xero or a similar accounting system
- Clear, confident communication - you'll be talking to clients as well as colleagues
Nice to have:
- UK payroll experience - a strong advantage, but we can teach it
- Previous client-facing or external stakeholder experience
