Field Print Engineer – Managed Print / PaperCut
Field-based | Full UK driving licence required
Home-based when not on‑site
I’m working with a growing technology business looking for a Field Print Engineer to join its Managed Print team.
This is a great opportunity for someone from a managed print, MFD or photocopier engineering background who wants a broader role combining printer installations, print software and customer support.
The business is looking for someone who can bridge the gap between print hardware and IT support — primarily installing and supporting printers/MFDs, while also handling straightforward remote IT issues when required.
What you’ll be doing
- Installing and configuring printer and MFD fleets at customer sites
- Working with PaperCut and wider print management solutions
- Setting up print queues, drivers and network printers
- Troubleshooting printing, scanning and connectivity issues
- Supporting customer deployments and migrations
- Carrying out fault finding and basic hardware support
- Providing remote 1st line technical support where required
- Completing site surveys, installation planning and technical documentation
The original brief also includes preventative maintenance, breakdown support and firmware upgrades across the printer fleet.
What we’re looking for
- Experience within Managed Print / MFD / Print Engineering
- Good experience with PaperCut – PaperCut MF or PaperCut Hive highly desirable
- Experience installing and supporting networked printers
- Ideally experience with Xerox or Ricoh
- Basic Windows and networking knowledge
- Comfortable supporting customers remotely and on‑site
- Full UK driving licence
- Proactive, reliable and able to work independently without needing to be micromanaged
The original JD also asks for Windows/Windows Server knowledge, TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP understanding, plus strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.
You’ll have plenty of autonomy, work with a manager who trusts you to get the job done, and have the flexibility to work from home when you’re not visiting customers.
There’s also ongoing technical training, certification support and the opportunity to develop further across both managed print and IT support.
