ScaleMath is hiring a Staff Writer and Editorial Lead to work directly with the founder and help drive high-leverage initiatives across the business. This is not a traditional "writing-only" role. You’ll be involved in content and editorial work, but you’ll also jump into partnerships, sales support, client calls, messaging, positioning, internal projects, and whatever else the business needs. The common thread is: you’re a high-judgment operator who can own work end-to-end and ship high-quality outcomes.

This role exists because our current internal “right hand” is becoming a bottleneck. We need someone with the same level of written English ability and attention to detail to share the load and help ScaleMath move faster without lowering standards.

What we’re looking for

  • Strategic + hands-on – able to set direction and execute, owning initiatives end-to-end with real accountability
  • Exceptional attention to detail – holds a high precision bar and catches issues others miss
  • Elite written communicator – writes clearly, confidently, and with strong structure and flow
  • High-level copywriter / “sentence designer” – strong at line-level writing: clarity, rhythm, persuasion, and restraint
  • Quality bar setter – elevates the standard for what “good” looks like across content and messaging
  • Strong editorial judgment – knows what to cut, what to keep, what to emphasize, and what will confuse the reader
  • Execution-first mindset – reliably ships finished work, not just drafts, outlines, or ideas
  • Brand voice steward – maintains consistency of tone, positioning, and messaging across channels
  • Trusted internal reviewer – improves others’ work through thoughtful critique, rewrites, and refinement

What you’ll do

  • Writing and editing high-quality content (including founder-led content)
  • Improving messaging, positioning, and narrative clarity across the business
  • Reviewing and polishing important documents, emails, and customer-facing assets
  • Supporting partnerships: outreach, coordination, follow-ups, and deal flow
  • Joining client and partner calls where strong communication matters
  • Supporting sales efforts with copy, decks, follow-ups, and materials
  • Owning internal initiatives end-to-end (research, execution, and delivery)
  • Acting as a force multiplier for the founder and the team

What success looks like

  • Work that used to bottleneck now ships consistently, without quality dropping
  • Our content, messaging, and outbound feels sharper, clearer, and more “ScaleMath”
  • Initiatives move forward because you proactively push them forward
  • The founder’s time is protected and the business moves faster

Who this is perfect for

  • Loves writing, editing, and high-quality communication
  • Also enjoys business problem-solving and cross-functional execution
  • Wants real ownership, not narrow job lanes
  • Can switch between “craft” work and “operator” work without losing quality

Location

UK is preferred, but we’re open to hiring globally for the right person.

How to apply

Send us:

  • A short note on why this role fits you
  • 2–3 examples of your best writing (published or private is fine)
  • Anything that shows how you operate (projects, initiatives you owned, etc.)
