About Scale Models Weston Ltd Scale Models Weston Ltd is a prestigious model maker with over 40 years of heritage. Based near Colchester in Essex, we specialize in nautical and marine models but also work across the prototyping and architectural industries. We’re looking for an experienced model maker to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with some of the most renowned names in superyacht and military boat design. The ideal candidate will have prior experience creating scale models and a solid understanding of the necessary processes, including 3D printing, laser cutting, sanding, finishing, spray painting, and interpreting 2D and 3D plans. Experience with 3D drawing in Rhino is also beneficial. At SMW, we utilize 3D printers, CNC milling, and other technologies to create each scale model to a high standard; the person we seek will enjoy a hands-on role, possess a keen eye for detail, and be motivated to achieve a high-quality finish on models.
