A highly respected, people-centred architecture studio in the heart of London, widely recognised for its leadership in housing design, is expanding its international reach and is now looking to appoint a Senior Architect to support a growing portfolio of Australian projects. You will be joining a collaborative, values-led studio known for its generosity as an employer, its deep commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and its long-term approach to career development.
The studio has recently established a presence in Australia and is seeking a Senior Architect based in the London studio to work closely with a UK Director, acting as a trusted right-hand figure on a number of meaningful housing-led schemes. You will be taking responsibility for managing the local architects, joining DTMS, responding to queries and contributing to drawing production.
You will be taking a central role in the day-to-day delivery of medium to large-scale residential and mixed-use projects, working closely with senior leadership while retaining hands-on involvement in design and technical delivery. You will be collaborating closely with a UK Director and Project Leaders, contributing to both strategic and operational decision-making across international projects. The studio offers flexible working as standard, and given the studio has expanded internationally, they also offer strong career progression opportunities.
Key responsibilities:- Working closely with the UK Director to lead multiple projects across RIBA Stages 1β3, ensuring design quality, technical rigour, and consistency.
- Producing, overseeing, and reviewing drawing packages, with a strong focus on buildability and coordination.
- Acting as a key point of contact for Australian clients and collaborators, attending and leading online meetings across time zones.
- Coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and consultant inputs across architecture, planning, landscape, and sustainability.
- Managing project programmes, resourcing, and delivery planning, escalating risks where appropriate.
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members, fostering a supportive and inclusive studio culture.
- Contributing to project narratives, presentations, and client engagement activity.
- A flexible approach to working hours is required to support international collaboration; overseas travel may be available longer-term but is not anticipated initially.
- ARB-registered Architect or equivalent.
- Strong experience delivering medium to large-scale residential or mixed-use projects, ideally housing-led.
- Confident working across both design and technical stages, with strong UK regulatory knowledge.
- Understanding and experience in Australian building regulations is highly desirable, but not essential.
- High level of proficiency in Revit and BIM workflows, including model management and drawing coordination.
- Comfortable overseeing technical information and coordinating consultant outputs.
- Confident communicator, able to lead client meetings and present design and technical information clearly.
- Experience of, or strong interest in, international housing projects.
- Interest in modern methods of construction and innovative housing delivery is welcomed.
This role would suit a Senior Architect who enjoys taking ownership, working closely with senior leadership, and contributing meaningfully to housing projects that prioritise quality, community, and long-term impact. It offers the opportunity to play a pivotal role in an internationally expanding studio while remaining rooted in a supportive, people-focused working culture.
