A globally recognised architecture studio known for delivering complex, design-led projects across multiple sectors is seeking a Regional Technical Director to oversee technical excellence across its UK and European operations. You will be joining the London studio of a collaborative international practice where design ambition is supported by rigorous delivery and technical leadership.
In this role you will act as a central technical authority for the region, working closely with Office Leaders, Sector Leaders and project teams to ensure that complex projects are delivered with clarity, consistency and technical integrity. You will be mentoring teams, guiding technical decision-making and helping elevate standards across the studio’s portfolio - balancing strategic oversight with hands-on engagement across projects.
You will provide regional technical leadership across a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring that design intent is matched by robust delivery, compliance and buildability. Leading the technical delivery of projects across the UK and Europe, ensuring compliance, safety and quality are embedded within the design process.
Providing strategic technical oversight while supporting teams through complex construction and coordination challenges. Collaborating closely with studio leaders and project teams to resolve technical issues and maintain delivery momentum.
Providing guidance on UK and Irish regulatory frameworks, including CDM, BCAR, BSA and PSDP requirements. Leading technical reviews across all project stages, ensuring adherence to health & safety, quality assurance, environmental standards and BIM information management.
Promoting advancements in construction technology, digital delivery and sustainable design approaches across the practice.
- Professional experience within architectural practice, with strong emphasis on technical delivery and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrable experience providing technical leadership on complex projects, ideally across sectors such as aviation, data centres, residential or commercial developments.
- Experience delivering projects within UK and/or Irish regulatory frameworks, with wider European experience advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of architectural building systems, specifications and regulatory compliance processes.
- Proven ability to provide credible technical guidance to project teams across all project stages.
- Experience with specification writing, ideally using NBS Chorus.
- Familiarity with Revit and BIM workflows, and understanding of sustainability standards including LEED, WELL and BREEAM.
