Do you have experience planning export transportation in line with production schedules? We are hiring a Transport Planner for a globally successful manufacturer near Chelmsford. We are looking for experience in planning transportation around production planning challenges. As a transport planner, you will ensure goods' smooth and efficient movement across global supply chains, particularly in the USA.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working hand in hand with the Production Team to synchronise transport logistics with production output and demand requirements.
  • Managing complex inbound logistics to warehouses, ensuring schedule accuracy and stock availability.
  • Managing the booking of transport, collaborating with customers and internal teams.
  • Liaising with third-party carriers and logistics providers to manage timely shipments.
  • Maintaining accurate export documentation and logistics records – BOL, commercial invoices, Certs of Origin.
  • Analysing transport data to identify operational efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a logistics/supply chain role within a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of international freight operations and transport planning.
  • Experience with export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificate of origin and bill of lading.
  • Confident Excel user (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
  • Familiarity with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and logistics project coordination.
