Head of Sports Marketing – Essex (Hybrid – Must Drive!). Our client is redefining what it means to be at the top of their sport. SC4 Recruitment Limited is looking for a Head of Sports Marketing to join this ambitious brand and lead this charge. This is not your typical sports marketing role; we’re seeking a builder who can create and deliver a vision that connects elite performance with grassroots passion, champion youth development, support rising stars and their families, and elevate a global brand presence across professional circuits.
Responsibilities
- Build National Youth Academies: You’ll design, launch, and scale a nationwide academy system to identify and develop young talent across the UK and internationally. You’ll create inspiring environments where emerging athletes and their parents feel supported and valued.
- Nurture Grassroots Talent & Families: More than just identifying talent, you’ll build structures that genuinely support youth progression, including mentoring pathways, family engagement, digital touchpoints, and regional programmes that ensure no young star is left behind.
- Represent the brand on the Global Stage: Be the face of the brand at national and international events, working with governing bodies, supporting players and their management teams, and leading brand activations to ensure our professional presence matches our grassroots efforts.
- Lead Partnerships & Sponsorships: Drive growth of sports partnerships and activate sponsorships that bring the brand vision to life—from digital integration to live events—with creativity, credibility, and commercial acumen.
Who We’re Looking For
- 8+ years in sports marketing, with proven experience leading youth programmes, talent pathways, or grassroots initiatives.
- Experience in high-performance sports such as football, rugby, tennis, or cricket, where academy structures are integral to success.
- Ability to lead from the front—speaking to parents, presenting to sponsors, and building relationships with governing bodies.
- Strategic thinker and doer—able to set long-term goals and roll up sleeves to deliver.
- Energetic, diplomatic, and passionate about sport, with an appetite to embed yourself in the development of the sport.
