SC4 is supporting a fast-growing international manufacturer that is entering a major phase of operational transformation. We’re looking for a commercially minded Head of Procurement & Supply Chain to lead the end-to-end flow: forecast → buy → make → move → deliver.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants to modernise a legacy operation into a data-led, commercially sharp, efficient supply chain function. You’ll own procurement, supplier performance, inbound logistics, inventory, warehouse control and the full planning cadence (S&OP). The operation is complex, SKU-heavy and component-driven, so experience working with BOMs, shared/inter-dependent components, and multi-stage manufacturing is essential. This is not a finished-goods purchasing role. As the business continues to scale internationally, this position offers significant scope to shape strategy, build capability and progress into a broader operational leadership remit.
Responsibilities- End-to-end supply chain ownership: forecasting, procurement, manufacturing flow, inbound logistics and delivery
- S&OP and planning governance across a 0–26 week horizon
- Supplier strategy, negotiation, cost control and performance management
- Inventory optimisation, stock policy, slow-mover reduction and warehouse accuracy
- Transformation of legacy processes into modern, efficient, commercially aligned ways of working
- Business Central data ownership (MRP/MPS parameters, item masters, BOM accuracy)
- Cross-functional alignment with Commercial, NPD, Finance, Production and Amazon/D2C teams
- Strong experience in manufacturing or FMCG supply chains
- Proven leadership across procurement, planning and inbound logistics
- Deep understanding of complex SKU environments and component-level BOMs
- Experience in modernising or transforming supply chain processes
- Commercially assertive mindset – able to challenge, influence and propose better options
- Strong ERP capability and excellent data/Excel skills
- Ability to simplify complexity and drive clear decisions across the business
This is a 100% on-site role based on commutable distance from Harlow, Ware, Bishops Stortford, Cheshunt, Hertford, Epping, and Waltham Abbey. You must have the right to work in the UK and be able to commute reliably.
If you’re a proactive, commercially minded supply chain leader who loves building structure, improving performance and making complex operations run smoothly, we’re shortlisting now and would love to speak with you.
