Legal Executive Support Assistant – Edinburgh City Centre | Hybrid (3 days office / 2 from home) 9am–5pm Up to £32,000 + excellent benefits Permanent. This is not a generic admin role. It's a genuine opportunity to step into a global law firm and begin building a long-term career in executive legal support.
My client is an international law firm with a strong presence in Edinburgh, known for its collaborative culture, high standards and investment in their support teams. They are open to candidates with 2+ years' experience in professional services or the Civil Service — or strong administrators who are ready to expand their career in a more commercial, client-facing environment.
You may not already be working in legal, but you will have been exposed to diary management, stakeholder liaison, document handling, database systems and financial administration — and you'll be ready to apply those skills at a higher level.
In this role, you will provide proactive executive support to Partners and fee-earners within a busy practice area. You will take ownership of complex diaries and travel coordination, support deadline management, organise client events and internal sessions, draft first-pass correspondence and act as a key link between fee-earners and business services teams.
You'll also gain exposure to client research, bids and tender support, presentation materials, billing processes, WIP monitoring, engagement letters, AML and conflicts checks.
On the document side, you'll prepare pitch documents, format and amend Word, Excel and PowerPoint materials, carry out comparisons and conversions, proofread and manage document workflows.
This is a role for someone who is motivated, organised and serious about delivering a professional service of the highest quality. In return, you'll receive structured training, real responsibility and clear career development opportunities as you grow within the legal support pathway.
If you want to build a long-term career in professional legal support within a global firm that will recognise and develop your capability — this could be your next step. If you are a paralegal seeking a training contract, an aspiring solicitor or barrister, or looking for a short-term legal stepping stone — this role will not be the right fit.
