Document Specialist – Document Production Centre (Part-time) 3 days per week | 1 day office-based, 2 days from home £40,000–£42,000 pro rata. This is a Wednesday to Friday role, offering a grown-up hybrid setup and the chance to be part of a highly respected, collaborative team.

The role

You’ll be a trusted expert within the DPC, delivering a responsive, high-quality document production service in a deadline-driven legal environment. Quality, consistency and client service sit at the heart of everything you do. You’ll also be a guardian of the firm’s brand, house styles and templates — the calm hand making sure everything that leaves the building looks exactly as it should. Flexibility is occasionally required to support workflow and cover absences, but this is a role designed with balance in mind.

What you’ll be doing

  • Producing, amending and formatting documents to an exceptional standard
  • Audio transcription using BigHand
  • Proofreading with a forensic eye for detail
  • Creating and formatting documents across Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Working confidently with PDFs (PDFDocs, Adobe, Kofax) including e-bundles and redactions
  • Maintaining and applying house style and branding consistently
  • Managing deadlines, priorities and workflow expectations
  • Collaborating closely with colleagues and fee earners across the firm
  • Sharing knowledge, supporting peers and contributing to continuous improvement within the DPC

About you

  • Proven experience in a Document Specialist / Document Production role
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint in particular)
  • Excellent formatting and re-formatting capability across complex legal documents
  • Fast, accurate audio and copy typing
  • Strong working knowledge of PDF tools
  • A calm, proactive approach — especially when deadlines loom
  • Outstanding attention to detail and legal terminology awareness
  • Confidence liaising with senior stakeholders, including partners
  • A genuine team mindset and a desire to keep learning

Hours

Core hours: Wednesday to Friday, 9.30am – 5.30pm. Occasional pre-arranged weekend overtime on a rota basis.
