The role As SHEQ Advisor, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring the safe and compliant delivery of our exciting sports and open space projects, conducting site inspections and audits across the UK. You will assist with incident reporting, investigations, and the maintenance of SHEQ records and digital systems. You’ll support the company’s wider SHEQ initiatives, helping to ensure ISO and subcontractor compliance, preparing for audits, maintaining accreditations and training records — upholding the market leading safety, environmental, and quality standards S&C Slatter is known.

We design, build and maintain sports pitches, courts, tracks and multi-use games areas, all independently tested to meet or exceed the standards of FIFA, the FA, World Rugby, the LTA and other governing bodies of sport. Our in-house Professional Services team supports clients at every stage, from feasibility and funding through to design, planning and project handover, helping turn ambitious ideas into successful, buildable projects. What you’ll be doing Reporting to the Head of SHEQ your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Head of SHEQ in preparing and reviewing RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statements) and Construction Phase Plans.
- Conducting site inspections, audits and toolbox talks.
- Assisting with incident reporting and investigations.
- Supporting with ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environmental), and ISO 45001 (Health & Safety) compliance.
- Reviewing subcontractor H&S compliance against our own H&S Standards.
- Helping maintain SHEQ records and digital systems.
- Supporting the Head of SHEQ with internal audits, and external audit readiness.
- Maintaining Company accreditations, including CHAS Elite, Constructionline Gold, Safe Contractor, Achilles Gold.
- Support with management of training and competence records.
What you’ll bring NEBOSH Certificate (General or Construction) as a minimum, further development will be supported. Experience in a construction Health & Safety Role. Confidence in site inspections and documentation. Efficient IT skills, in particular MS Office suite. Practical solutions and a hardworking approach.
