Job Description – Domestic Plumber (Permanent, Part-Time/Full-Time, Flexible Hours)
About the Role:
I\’m looking for a skilled domestic plumber to join my small team. This is an employee role, with core hours Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm, plus optional evening/weekend call-outs for extra pay. You\’ll handle most jobs independently, with guidance and support from me as needed during the initial period.
What We Offer:
- Hourly Rate: £12.50/hr
- Guaranteed Minimum: 16 hours/week (£200/week)
- Maximum Potential Hours: Up to 40 hours/week (£500/week) depending on workload
- Holiday Pay: 12.07% of all hours worked (including base + call-outs)
- Optional Emergency Call-Outs: Voluntary evening/weekend work, paid at £12.50/hr + £20 bonus per job
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out domestic plumbing work including repairs, maintenance, and installations (toilets, baths, showers, radiators, taps, pipes, etc.)
- Respond to call-outs as agreed, maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer communication
- Troubleshoot and diagnose plumbing issues efficiently and safely
- Keep accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time spent
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Relevant plumbing qualifications, such as NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in domestic plumbing (repairs, installations, maintenance)
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Clean UK driving licence required
- Must be available for core hours Mon–Fri 9am–5pm
- Optional willingness for evening/weekend call-outs is a plus
- Own tools preferred, but can discuss equipment requirements
