Position: Accounts Receivable Collections & Resolutions Analyst – Portuguese Speaker (Portuguese & English) – Frimley, Surrey (UK)
Overview
Manage the Credit Control and Resolution activities for the Portuguese market, ensuring customers adhere to payment terms, validating deductions, and accurately allocating invoices to the correct accruals.
Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for managing credit risk and resolutions for a portfolio of customer accounts on behalf of EMEA Subsidiaries and Headquarters.
- Make credit decisions within the DOA framework, work independently, and proactively chase receivable items.
- Raise and resolve customer claims and queries, escalating to Commercial business partners and line managers as needed.
- Develop, maintain and improve relationships with internal and external customers.
- Minimise the risk of bad and doubtful debts through credit management best practices.
- Manage insolvency resolution in conjunction with SSC and local Country management.
- Provide timely and accurate credit reporting to relevant audiences.
- Ensure customer account reconciliations are completed accurately.
- Comply with Sarbanes & Oxley (SOX) requirements for Accounts Receivable processes.
- Verify customer rebates and promotional invoices, ensuring validation with the accruals tracker and timely processing.
- Create Non‑Discretionary LTA (Long Term Agreements) and Discretionary Customer agreements, avoiding non‑approved expenditure.
- Review rebate expenditure monthly and provide meaningful variance analysis to local Business Team.
- Reconcile the subsystem (TSM) to SAP GL accounts for month‑end reporting.
- Investigate and post rebates, freight claims, and deductions with local Country commercial and service providers.
Qualifications
- Fluent in Portuguese and English, written and spoken.
- Experience as a Credit Controller or in a general Finance background.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and other Office tools.
- Knowledge of SAP preferred; ICM qualification a plus.
- Additional European language (French, Spanish, German) is an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
