We’re seeking a Senior Human Factors Engineer to help shape the next generation of cockpit design for a leading fast jet platform. Working closely with pilots, flight test teams, and engineers, you’ll ensure advanced Human Factors principles are applied throughout the cockpit’s Human-Machine Interface (HMI). You’ll play a key role in simulator development and flight testing—offering a unique opportunity to experience and influence fast jet systems from a pilot’s perspective.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine HMI concepts for cockpit systems including sensors, navigation, communications, weapons, and defensive aids.
  • Collaborate with pilots, aircrew, and engineers to define interfaces and assess usability through simulation and flight tests.
  • Support system requirements, validation, verification, and safety documentation.
  • Conduct Human Error Analysis and support airworthiness and product clearance activities.
  • Engage in user assessments and customer reviews to drive effective and intuitive designs.
  • Contribute to technical publications for both aircrew and groundcrew.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Human Factors, Psychology, or related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience deriving and managing technical requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and effectively.

Desirable:

  • Experience in usability testing or trials.
  • Background in military aviation or defence systems.

This role requires SC clearance and is open to UK nationals only due to security restrictions.
