We are currently recruiting for an experienced Systems Engineer with a strong background in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to join a major engineering programme based in Derby.
This is a 12-month contract opportunity working across complex engineering systems, supporting requirements, system architecture, modelling, integration, verification and validation activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead systems engineering activities across the full engineering lifecycle
- Develop and maintain system requirements and architectures
- Carry out requirements analysis, decomposition, allocation and traceability
- Develop MBSE models using Sys ML
- Create functional, physical, behavioural and interface models
- Define system architectures and interface specifications
- Support system integration, verification and validation activities
- Maintain requirements traceability and digital continuity
- Carry out trade studies and technical analysis
- Support engineering reviews including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR and PRR
- Identify technical risks and support mitigation activities
- Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams
Experience Required
- Strong Systems Engineering experience within complex engineering programmes
- Previous experience applying MBSE methodologies
- Good working knowledge of Sys ML
- Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler / Magic Draw, Enterprise Architect or Capella
- Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, DOORS Next, Jama or Polarion
- Strong understanding of requirements management and traceability
- Knowledge of system architecture and interface management
- Experience with verification and validation planning
- Understanding of systems engineering lifecycle processes
- Degree in Systems, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is desirable
Previous experience within aerospace, defence or another highly regulated engineering environment would be advantageous.
