This position requires a hands-on engineer capable of supporting process development, qualification activities, root cause investigations, and supplier collaboration to improve manufacturing performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimise casting processes to ensure stable production, high yield, and metallurgical conformity for blades and vanes.
  • Validate machining operations by defining cutting parameters, tooling strategies, and process controls to achieve consistent dimensional accuracy.
  • Support First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and process qualification activities including PFMEA, control plans, capability studies, and run-at-rate activities.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues across casting and machining processes to eliminate defects, reduce variation, and improve first-time-right performance.
  • Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing teams to resolve process issues and enhance process capability across the supply chain.

  • Experience with Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
  • Hands-on experience using measuring and testing equipment (contact and non-contact, analogue and digital).
  • Experience supporting root cause analysis and structured problem-solving techniques such as 8D.
  • Working knowledge of quality control tools and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams (CFTs) to develop PFMEA and control plans.
  • Understanding of concessions, containment procedures and traceability techniques.

Desirable

  • Experience working with turbine components or complex precision components.
