An established automation engineering company based in Liverpool is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in control panel design who wants to work on a variety of automation projects within a supportive and technically focused environment.

The role will be office-based five days per week, working closely with project and controls engineers to design electrical systems for automation and industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design electrical control panels for automation systems
  • Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts
  • Work with engineering teams to ensure designs meet project requirements
  • Prepare electrical documentation including BOMs and technical drawings
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant electrical standards
  • Support the build and commissioning teams where required
Requirements
  • Experience in electrical design for control panels or automation systems
  • Experience using electrical CAD software such as:
  • SolidWorks Electrical
  • AutoCAD Electrical
  • EPLAN (or similar such as Eagleclan)
  • Ability to produce accurate electrical drawings and documentation
  • Understanding of industrial control systems and automation
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work within project deadlines
  • Desirable
    • Experience working in automation, manufacturing, or industrial engineering
    • Knowledge of PLC control systems and panel layout best practices
