We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established engineering business based in Leicester. This is a great opportunity for a Design Engineer with experience within the food machinery or food processing equipment sector to join a successful engineering team, working on the design and development of bespoke machinery and equipment.
The Role
- Designing and developing bespoke food processing and production machinery
- Producing 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings
- Taking projects from initial concept through to manufacture
- Developing existing machinery and producing design improvements
- Working closely with manufacturing and engineering teams
- Producing bills of materials and technical documentation
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience designing machinery for the food industry is essential for this position.
- Previous mechanical design engineering experience
- Experience designing food machinery, processing equipment or production machinery
- Strong 3D CAD experience
- Autodesk Inventor experience would be advantageous but isn't essential
- Experience with other CAD packages will be considered if you have relevant food machinery experience
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and mechanical engineering principles
- Ability to take designs from concept through to manufacture
Package
- £35,000 – £55,000 per annum depending on experience
- Permanent position
