We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist automation and robotics business based in Huddersfield who are looking to appoint an experienced Control Software Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a technically strong and growing engineering team delivering bespoke automation and robotic solutions across a range of industrial sectors. The role offers hybrid working, with 1–2 days per week available from home.
The Role:
As a Control Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development and commissioning of PLC and SCADA control systems across a variety of automation projects. You will be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, from concept and software design through to testing, commissioning and customer handover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Programming and development of PLC control systems
- Development and configuration of SCADA systems and HMI interfaces
- System testing, debugging and optimisation
- Supporting commissioning activities (UK and potentially international)
- Producing technical documentation
- Working closely with electrical, mechanical and project teams
Requirements:
- Proven experience programming PLC systems (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi or similar)
- Strong experience with SCADA systems
- Experience within automation, robotics or special purpose machinery environments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
