📍 Near Huddersfield (Hybrid Working) | 💼 Full-time | 💰 £40,000 – £60,000 + Benefits

We are working with a well-established and growing engineering manufacturer based near Huddersfield, delivering specialist equipment and solutions into highly regulated and technical industries.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Controls Engineer to support the development of advanced control systems across their product range.

🔧 The Role

As a Controls Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, programming, and development of control systems for bespoke engineered solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

• PLC programming and development (from scratch and modification)
• Design and implementation of control systems for specialist equipment
• Commissioning and testing of systems (on-site and occasionally at customer sites)
• Working closely with mechanical and electrical design teams
• Supporting continuous improvement and innovation in control strategies
• Troubleshooting and fault-finding on existing systems

🧠 What We’re Looking For

• Experience in PLC programming (e.g. Siemens, Allen Bradley, or similar)
• Background in controls system design and development
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
• Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid role (office + remote)

⭐ Desirable

• HMI/SCADA experience
• Knowledge of automation systems or special purpose machinery
• Experience with commissioning
• Experience working within regulated or high-spec environments
