An established engineering and manufacturing business based in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a Control & Automation Engineer to join its growing engineering team. The company designs and manufactures bespoke industrial process equipment for customers across a range of sectors, delivering complex engineering projects from concept through to installation and commissioning.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong PLC and automation experience who enjoys working on bespoke machinery and industrial systems throughout the full project lifecycle.
As a Control & Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, programming, testing and commissioning of control systems for bespoke industrial equipment. Working closely with electrical, mechanical and project teams, you will deliver automation solutions from concept through to customer handover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and developing PLC and HMI control systems for bespoke industrial machinery
- Programming Siemens PLCs using TIA Portal
- Supporting and modifying Allen-Bradley PLC systems where required
- Developing HMI and SCADA applications
- Producing functional design specifications and technical documentation
- Supporting electrical design activities and control panel integration
