Conduct work study on SBV processes and tasks.

Conduct work study on SBV processes and tasks

  • Analyse and evaluate current and to-be operational processes at centres using data driven methodologies such as but not limited to time and motion studies, work sampling etc.
  • Benchmark current performance in comparison to centres nationally and against industry standards as well as recommend improvements.
  • Investigate data abnormalities and discrepancies to identify root causes, implementing the necessary corrections and adjustments to align with operational realities.
  • Use Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to identify inefficiencies and propose solutions.

Collate work study data into common tasks and processes

  • Consolidate and categorize work/time study data to establish standardized tasks and processes.
  • Present the work/time study results to relevant stakeholders and address queries.
  • Develop task libraries and process templates for operational consistency.
  • Adherence to Process Architecture and quality standards of process designs.
  • Confirm that the process architecture library is up to date and correct.
  • Provide insights based on data analysis to support decision‑making and continuous improvement.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate process‑related risks.
  • Develop end‑to‑end process maps that visualise key workflows, tasks and decision points.
  • Effectively and accurately use process mapping tools e.g. Visio to create clear and detailed diagrams.
  • Verify that process maps align with operational standards, compliance and risk management requirements.

Stakeholder engagement and coordination

  • Continuously collaborate with relevant stakeholders to align process improvements with business objectives.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to gather feedback and ensure smooth implementation of process changes.
  • Serve as the liaison between technical and operational teams for process enhancement initiatives.

Support costing and pricing of new products and customers

  • Provide process‑based insights to support the costing and pricing of new products and customer engagements through simulated processes.
  • Identify cost‑saving opportunities and provide recommendations based on process optimisation.
  • Apply basic and advanced methodologies to identify bottom line and economic profit enhancement opportunities, where it relates to cost efficiencies or income enhancements.

Determine productivity KPI’s at centres

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) through productivity benchmarking to measure productivity.
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to align operational goals and strategic objectives.
  • Identify areas of waste, inefficiencies and bottlenecks within the operations.
  • Identify underutilisation of facilities, infrastructure and resources and develop strategies in conjunction with relevant stakeholders to maximise their use.

Prepare and deliver relevant reports

  • Prepare and deliver reports on process performance, operational efficiency and KPIs to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on performance data, audits and operational reviews.
  • Track and report on the status of process improvement initiatives and their impact to Operations.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders to provide comprehensive reporting of key metrics including resources utilisation, cost savings and waste reduction.
  • Continuously verify and assess that deliverables and performance of processes are being monitored, identifying and reporting deviations promptly.

Drive process improvements in the cash value chain

  • Lead business process improvement initiatives aimed at improving efficiencies and effectiveness of operations.
  • Apply various applicable Industrial and System Engineering principles in process constraints and opportunity identifications as well as solutioning.
  • Define process performance criteria and requirements in terms of time, cost, resources.
  • Act as a coach to line managers and other process custodians regarding process re‑engineering and improvement methodologies and principles.
  • Perform business impact analysis as per requirement.
  • Deliver project objectives to achieve desired quality and impact within the time period planned and within the approved budget.
  • Provide input into test policy and procedural manuals, job aids and quick references to verify logic and support the change.

Governance

  • Subscribe and align to SBV Services’ ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Standards, ensuring the department’s processes and quality management system is at all times in compliance with the standard.
  • Support SBVs ESG journey, reporting on and managing the ESG requirements to ensure a positive reflection and outcome.

People Management

  • Provide leadership to employees within SBV and provide strategic and operational oversight of one’s department.
  • Capacitate the department by ensuring that the team structure is maintained, appropriately recruited, and selected.
  • Creates a conducive environment which translates into productivity and high morale within SBV.
  • Leading the focus on talent to instil value creation for high value contributors.
  • Preside over disciplinary hearings on behalf of SBV in alignment with statutory requirements and the policies & procedures of SBV.
  • Be an advocate for SBV’s Talent Management Process.
  • Adhere to legislative requirements, company policies and procedures in respect of employment Health and safety practices.
  • In relation to continuous improvement partner with Organisational Development to identify and possibly develop applicable training material or interventions that will provide future fit SBV employees.

  • Drive the department’s values while inspiring confidence and generating excitement, enthusiasm and commitment towards the mission.

Lead as an Ambassador and executor of Change

  • Act as a change management architect in periods of change to ensure business continuity.
  • Manage the integration of business units into a seamless end to end solution for customers.
  • Effectively communicate and embed new processes and procedures as they occur, addressing or escalating matters/ concerns to the SME’s when required.
  • Facilitate the necessary presentations, workshops, or forums to ensure consistent and accurate communication is given across one’s portfolio.

Requirements

Minimum Work Experience Required

  • 3 years’ experience in work study including time and motion studies or process planning in an operational environment.
  • 2 years in scientific methodologies associated with efficiency improvements.
  • Experience in cost accounting, and activity‑based costing: Advantageous.
  • Minimum Education / Qualification Required

    • Degree: Industrial Engineering.
