SBS is seeking a Product Compliance Manager to join our Product team in a full-time, permanent capacity. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring upcoming regulations, interpreting and assessing their impacts, and collaborating with the product team to design solutions that support our clients in meeting their regulatory obligations.
As a professional in lending and banking compliance, or with experience in interpreting financial regulations, you will assist our customers (banks and building societies) and involve them through various methods, including presentations, forums, and workshops. Additionally, you will engage with external stakeholders such as regulatory or trade bodies.
Location: London or Sheffield
Full-time, permanent role
Hybrid work model: 2 days in the office per week
Responsibilities and key duties in the role are to:
- Maintain a strong and comprehensive understanding of the regulatory environment impacting financial services, with a primary focus on mortgages & savings.
- Create a community of compliance specialists across our client base, fostering strong relationships and hosting round table events.
- Ensure regulatory change is communicated both internally and externally via a range of methods such as workshops and newsletters.
- Translate regulatory change into easily understandable business requirements, discussing and refining these with customers, third parties and colleagues.
- Assist with the design and implementation of our software solutions by answering regulatory based queries.
- Support with market analysis to identify opportunities to enhance our compliance offering.
- Work hand in hand with the Product Managers to build the product roadmaps, ensuring the relevant regulations and timelines are adhered to.
- Provide a point of reference for the business and clients when addressing regulatory change.
- Maintain active engagement with the key industry and regulatory bodies.

Desired candidate profile:
We are interested in hearing from you if you have most of the following attributes:
- Circa 5+ years’ UK banking/loans experience, or experience interpreting regulations and designing compliance solutions, preferably those impacting the mortgage and savings industry.
- Strong customer interaction and presentation skills.
- The ability to interpret regulations and translate into business context.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- An understanding of the political landscape affecting UK banking and financial regulations.
