Job Description As a Senior Business Consultant, you will operate as an advisor to UK mortgage and savings providers, owning senior client relationships and shaping high value engagements across service oversight, strategic consulting, and delivery leadership. You will be accountable for client outcomes, service excellence, and revenue growth, combining deep industry expertise with strong commercial judgement and delivery oversight. This role is suited for experienced professionals who want genuine accountability for client success, commercial impact, and delivery outcomes, while remaining close to clients and the work itself.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Delivery Leadership & Client Value

- Shape delivery approaches by applying deep understanding of client objectives, regulatory drivers, and operational context to ensure initiatives deliver meaningful business value.
- Contribute to presales and solution shaping, ensuring proposed approaches are coherent, deliverable, and aligned to client strategy and priorities.
- Act as a Product Owner or delivery lead where required, making informed trade‑offs to balance value, quality, regulatory considerations, and delivery pace.
- Identify opportunities to enhance client outcomes through insight gained during delivery, working in partnership with Account Managers to progress these where appropriate.
- Identify systemic and operational pain points across mortgage and savings environments.
- Lead consulting engagements focused on process optimisation and operational efficiency, risk reduction and service resilience, and platform and capability enablement.
- Conduct root cause analysis of complex issues, ensuring preventative and sustainable improvements are implemented.
- Collaborate with clients to introduce new products, services, or operating approaches that improve outcomes and long-term value.
- Service Oversight & Operational Assurance
- Own service oversight for assigned client portfolios, ensuring service performance supports business continuity, contractual commitments, and service excellence.
- Lead structured service reviews covering SLA, availability, and batch performance, operational risk and incident trends, and service improvement initiatives.
- Develop and execute service improvement plans aligned to both managed service performance and client strategic objectives.
- Consultancy Leadership & Capability Development
- Act as a role model for consulting excellence across the practice.
- Coach and mentor consultants, supporting development across service management and consulting approach.
- Promote a proactive, outcome‑driven culture focused on ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the evolution of consulting methodologies, industry playbooks, and reusable assets.
