We are looking for a Senior Model Validation Analyst to validate the models and algorithms that support critical business decisions. The role is permanent, full‑time (35 hours per week) and supports a blended working arrangement: three days a week in the Skipton office and two days working from home.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct independent validation of the Society's key models, using quantitative and qualitative testing to assess model performance, design, deployment, and monitoring.
- Support the tracking and management of Model Risk across Skipton.
- Write clear validation reports and stakeholder communications, including presentations to senior stakeholders at the Model Risk Committee.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the business, communicating complex concepts in a clear, straightforward manner.
- Support model‑related internal and external audits.
What You’ll Need
- Knowledge of model validation techniques, including desktop reviews, statistical testing, and challenger model development.
- The ability to critically analyse and validate complex statistical models across a range of business areas, utilising a balance of business and regulatory knowledge combined with statistical rigour.
- Awareness of model‑related regulation such as SS1/23.
- A degree in a mathematical or analytical field.
- Experience operating in an assurance capacity and working with assurance providers (internal and external audit).
- Strong data‑science skills covering the analytics lifecycle.
- Strong knowledge of at least one of Python, Excel, SAS, and SQL, with an aptitude for learning other analytical tools.
