What Will You Be Doing?
As the Enterprise & Operational Risk Lead, you will drive the evolution of the Group Risk Management Framework, providing expert oversight and insight across the risk landscape. You will shape informed decision‑making, strengthen risk practices, and champion continuous improvement in reporting and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong independent second line oversight of first line operational and enterprise risks, including risk assessments, control testing and mitigation actions, ensuring effective framework implementation and escalation of key risks.
- Provide oversight, guidance and support to ensure risks are managed in line with the Group Risk Management Framework, Group Risk Policy Framework and Board Risk Appetite.
- Lead cross‑cutting thematic reviews to identify root causes, systemic issues and opportunities to strengthen controls.
- Deliver high quality, timely risk reporting and insight to senior committees, including thematic reviews and emerging risk identification.
- Support senior leadership in delivering annual Enterprise Risk objectives while leading priority information risk initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership and coaching to colleagues, supporting capability development and consistent application of the framework.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to provide constructive challenge at senior levels.
- Strong technical expertise in enterprise and operational risk management (risk identification, assessment, controls, events, issues and remediation).
- Excellent analytical capability, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into clear, actionable insights.
- Advanced risk reporting and communication skills, including producing high quality committee papers.
- Knowledge of key risk framework components, including risk appetite, risk policies, RCSAs, and risk events.
- IRM Certificate in Risk Management or equivalent (desired).
