About the Role
A Customer Service Consultant will engage in conversations to understand customers' needs, provide information on savings products and services, review circumstances and goals, and deliver a straightforward, helpful service that reflects enthusiasm and professionalism. The role involves supporting customers face‑to‑face, virtually, and via outbound contact to deliver a first‑class service, promote products, resolve problems and provide tailored solutions.
Responsibilities
- Be the first point of contact, warmly welcoming customers in‑branch or over the phone.
- Engage and understand customers by asking insightful questions and uncovering needs.
- Listen carefully and tailor solutions to meet individual circumstances.
- Proactively reach out to customers by phone to discuss needs and support options.
- Maintain accurate records in internal systems, focusing on vulnerable customers.
- Adhere to policies, standards and controls, receiving comprehensive training and coaching.
Qualifications
- Previous experience interacting with customers, in person or over the phone.
- Preferable experience in a bank or building society; contact‑centre experience valued.
- Background in retail, food & beverage, guest services, health/care or similar sectors.
- Demonstrated passion for delivering exceptional service and going above and beyond.
- Ability to work well in a team and maintain a one‑team mindset.
- Strong time‑management and ability to react quickly in a busy environment.
- Willingness and ability to grow, adapt and change while accommodating business needs.
