We're looking for a Senior Email Developer to lead and evolve how Skipton creates, manages and delivers email communications.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a business-critical capability that supports millions of customer interactions every year.

You'll shape the standards, tools and best practices that help colleagues create trusted, accessible and effective email communications, while ensuring every email reflects our brand and delivers the right customer experience.

As our subject matter expert, you'll combine technical expertise with creativity and continuous improvement.

From developing reusable templates and improving deliverability to coaching colleagues and influencing future ways of working, you'll play a key role in helping us make every email work harder for customers, members and our business.

At Skipton, we're founded on fairness.

We exist to do right by our members - and we believe that starts with doing right by our people.

So, whoever you are and whatever you bring, there's a place for you here and a genuine plan for where you go next.

What You’ll Do

We don't ask for members' attention.

We earn it - one campaign, one design, one idea at a time.

Join our Marketing team and you'll help decide who thinks of us first, what they think about us and why we're the ones they choose.

It takes a team with real energy and ambition to make that happen, and that's exactly what you'd be joining.

  • Owning and developing Skipton's email design and development capability, setting the standards that support high-quality customer communications
  • Creating and maintaining reusable email templates and content components that enable colleagues to build emails more efficiently and independently
  • Leading the relationship management of external suppliers
  • Ensuring email communications are accessible, responsive, compliant and aligned to brand standards across all devices and channels
  • Acting as the Society's specialist for email development, deliverability and technical governance, helping resolve complex issues and improve performance
  • Using testing, insight and optimisation techniques to improve customer engagement and drive email effectiveness
  • Working closely with teams across Marketing, Digital, Technology and Customer Insight to continuously improve how we communicate with our members
  • What You’ll Need
  • Strong experience designing and developing emails across a range of devices, platforms and email clients
  • Experience creating reusable templates, components or frameworks that enable others to build email communications effectively
  • A strong understanding of email deliverability, sender reputation, accessibility and governance principles
  • Experience testing, quality assuring and troubleshooting email communications
  • The ability to use data, insight and performance measures to identify improvements and optimise outcomes
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to a range of audiences
  • What’s In It For You

Your work matters.

And the way we reward you matters, too.

At Skipton, we offer pay and benefits that really do make life better, together with a genuine thank you for making a difference.

  • Annual discretionary bonus scheme
  • 25 days standard annual leave + bank holidays + rising 1 day per year of service to a max of 30 days
  • Matching employer pension contribution (up to 10% per annum)
  • Colleague Mortgages and access to Skipton products and services at discounted rates
  • Flexible working to help balance your commitments
  • Private medical insurance, health and wellbeing app, volunteering opportunities, cycle-to-work scheme, discounted gym memberships
  • Lifestyle perks such as a Home and Tech voucher, which can be used at Currys, and IKEA

And that includes the people who work here.

So, when we say we care about your wellbeing, we mean it.

Why?

It’s just the way we are.
