Reporting to and taking day to day targets and direction from the Quality Manager. Maintain quality standards by approving/rejecting incoming products/materials, in-process production, and finished products, and recording quality results. To act as an ambassador for the company, promoting a positive image both internally and externally, demonstrating support of our strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Approve incoming goods/materials and in-process production by confirming to specification/inspection requirements; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting unacceptable products/materials and communicating required adjustment to the production manager.
  • Approve finished products by confirming to specification/inspection requirements; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning product for re-work; confirming re-work; certificate of conformance.
  • Document inspection results and customer/supplier returns by completing reports and logs; liaising with production manager and company buyer; follow through to closure; maintain traceable records.
  • Keep measuring equipment operating by following operating instructions; confirming calibration status prior to use; reporting damaged/out of calibration equipment; update job knowledge by participating in training opportunities.
  • Conduct Quality Systems audits and assist in training/guidance to other auditors; assist with first off sample approvals; completion of First Article inspection Reports (FAIR).
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities; support and lead process improvement activities; support other functional areas; collate quality data; report on KPIs; attend meetings; perform root cause analysis; maintain a clean and tidy working environment.

Required Job Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a quality role; Qualification in Quality Engineering/Systems or Appropriate engineering discipline.
  • Proactive and positive attitude, with the ability to support team members; articulate; confident; responsive.
  • Able to communicate at all levels within the business; good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to present data effectively.
  • Excellent time management; planning and prioritising activities; ability to work on own initiative; team player.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications; working knowledge of business systems.
  • Knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001; knowledge of measurement tools and equipment; understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes; problem-solving skills; analytical skills; ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
