Quality Technician Reporting to: Director / Quality Manager About the role: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Technician to support our Quality function. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards across incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality requirements. You will also act as an ambassador for the business, supporting our culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Perform in-process and final inspection of components against drawings, specifications & customer requirements Carry out dimensional checks using tools like calipers, CMM or gauges Perform final product inspections, including rework verification and certification Produce and maintain inspection reports, logs, and traceability records Manage and process customer and supplier returns, ensuring timely resolution Ensure all measuring equipment is calibrated and fit for use Support quality audits and assist with training of internal auditors Complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and support first-off approvals Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions Contribute to continuous improvement and process optimisation initiatives Collate and report quality KPIs to monitor performance Work collaboratively across departments including production, procurement, and business services Support and perform contract review activities Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment Skills and Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in a quality or inspection role Qualification in Quality Engineering, Quality Systems, or related engineering learning. Working knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO9001 Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Experience using measurement tools and inspection equipment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Effective communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels Good time management and organisational skills Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team Personal attributes Proactive and positive attitude Confident and articulate Detail-oriented and quality-focused Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic environment Strong team player with a continuous improvement mindset Performance Measures: Performance will be measured against team KPIs and individual objectives, reviewed and updated annually, with a focus on maintaining quality standards, reducing non-conformities, and supporting business objectives. General Requirements: The post holder is required to comply with all company policies and procedures, including Quality Management, Health & Safety, Environmental and Confidentiality requirements, and to actively support the organisation's commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
