About The Role

SBFM is a leading provider of soft facilities management services. We're looking for a commercially-minded Account Analyst to join our Finance team at our Leeds Head Office. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity of our client contracts while providing valuable commercial insight that supports business performance.

Working closely with Operations, Contract Managers and the wider Finance team, you'll help ensure contracts are accurately invoiced, financial performance is understood and analysed, and commercial decisions are supported by reliable financial information. If you enjoy working with data, building relationships and solving problems, this could be the perfect next step in your finance career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and issuing accurate client invoices in line with contractual terms, ensuring billing reflects agreed rates, service variations and contract scope.
  • Developing a strong understanding of client contracts, including pricing structures, uplifts, variable charges and contractual changes.
  • Reconciling labour, materials, subcontractor costs and other expenditure against invoiced revenue, investigating and resolving discrepancies where required.
  • Analysing contract performance against budget, identifying trends, variances and opportunities for improvement.
  • Producing meaningful financial reports and responding to ad hoc analysis requests from Finance, Operations and senior stakeholders.
  • Working collaboratively with operational teams to provide commercial insight and support informed business decisions.
  • Helping to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy and overall contract performance through continuous improvement.

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys analysing data, has excellent attention to detail and is keen to build a career within commercial finance. You’ll ideally have:

  • Around two years' experience within a finance, accounting or commercial finance role.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with detailed financial data.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a methodical and accurate approach to your work.
  • The ability to explain financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance colleagues.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Experience within Facilities Management, contracting or another service-based business would be advantageous but isn't essential.
  • AAT qualified or currently studying towards ACCA, CIMA or another professional accounting qualification would be beneficial, although this isn't essential.

Why Join SBFM?
