Head of QSHE
Salary: £70,000 + Car Allowance
Location: Leeds Head Office (with travel as required)

This is a strategic leadership role where you’ll influence the direction of our Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental agenda, ensuring we continue to protect our people, support our clients and drive operational excellence.
Duties And Responsibilities
Reporting into the Executive team, you’ll lead the development and delivery of our QSHE strategy across the business. You’ll be responsible for creating a proactive, values‑led culture that puts safety, quality and continuous improvement at the heart of everything we do.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Setting the strategic direction for Quality, Safety, Health and Environment across SBFM.
- Leading and continually improving our ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Owning our corporate Health & Safety framework, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.
- Leading internal audit programmes, site inspections and external certification audits.
- Chairing the Risk Committee and owning the corporate risk register.
- Driving incident investigations, lessons learned and continuous improvement.
- Leading environmental compliance and supporting our wider ESG commitments.
- Developing QSHE training and competency frameworks across the business.
- Producing insightful performance reporting for the Executive Board.
- Acting as the senior QSHE representative with clients, regulators and certification bodies.
- Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing QSHE team.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a confident, influential leader with significant experience in senior QSHE or Health & Safety leadership within a large, multi-site organisation.
You’ll Ideally Have
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification) in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Extensive experience leading QSHE strategy within Facilities Management or a similar service-led environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
- Proven experience managing ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification programmes.
- Experience leading risk management and corporate governance at a senior level.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at Executive level.
- A passion for developing people and embedding a positive safety culture.
- Chartered IOSH (CMIOSH) status and a relevant degree are desirable but not essential.
