We are looking for an experienced Head of Procurement and Fleet to join our business based in our newly renovated Head Office in Leeds. You will be responsible for developing and executing the procurement and fleet management strategy, ensuring cost efficiency, supplier performance and compliance with regulatory standards. This role will involve overseeing the procurement of goods and services, managing supplier relationships and optimising fleet operations to support our business objectives. This position is offered on a full time, permanent basis working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that drive cost savings and operational efficiency.
  • Manage supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
  • Establish procurement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the supply chain.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure procurement aligns with company objectives.
  • Drive sustainability and ethical sourcing initiatives within procurement processes.
  • Develop and implement an effective fleet strategy to optimise vehicle utilisation and reduce operational costs.
  • Oversee the procurement, maintenance, and disposal of company vehicles in line with business requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and environmental regulations related to fleet operations.
  • Implement cost control measures, including fuel management, leasing strategies, and insurance negotiations.
  • Utilise fleet management software and analytics to monitor performance, efficiency, and maintenance schedules.
  • Develop and enforce policies for driver safety, training, and vehicle usage.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management and/or CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualification is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in procurement and fleet management, preferably in the Facilities Management industry.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • In-depth understanding of supply chain management principles.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of fleet operations, including vehicle leasing, maintenance, and compliance.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control.
  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement and fleet management software.
  • Full UK Driving licence.
