Role Description -

The Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Andover, responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for bespoke joinery projects. Day-to-day activities include reviewing drawings and specifications, conducting takeoffs, and liaising with design, production, and project management teams to ensure estimates reflect technical and practical requirements. The role involves obtaining and analyzing supplier and subcontractor quotations, preparing tender documents, and supporting pricing strategies for conservation and high-end residential work. The Estimator will maintain estimating databases, contribute to value engineering proposals, and provide clear, timely cost information to support decision-making and project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, including experience with cost estimating, takeoffs, and budget preparation.
  • Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and general IT tools used for data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of joinery, construction, or related trades, including materials, manufacturing processes, and installation methods.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with design, production, suppliers, and clients.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
  • Experience in high-end residential or conservation projects is highly beneficial.
  • Relevant vocational training or a qualification in construction, quantity surveying, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Ability to work on-site in Stockbridge and commit to full-time working hours. Working from home 1 day per week can be agreed following probation period.
