Role and Responsibilities
We are looking to recruit a Hygiene Operative to work at our Rice Mill in Fulbourn. The role reports to the Hygiene Supervisor and works with another Hygiene Operative to maintain the cleanliness of the Mill, particularly the production areas. The main responsibilities include:
- Follow the Hygiene Schedules and any instructions given by the Hygiene Supervisor
- Ensure good cleaning practices are adhered to at all times
- Report and/or undertake any temporary repairs necessary to prevent further spillages
- Carry out duties in a safe manner following company health & safety guidelines
- Complete daily cleaning documentation on a timely basis
- Ensure compliance with Company Food Safety, GMP and Hygiene policies and procedures at all times
- Keep work areas clean and tidy by adopting a \"clean as you go\" policy
- Store and handle chemicals correctly
- Use appropriate PPE at all times
- Work as part of a team to ensure the Mill and external areas are cleaned efficiently
- The Mill covers 7 floors and can be physically demanding
About You
Experience Requirements:
- Experience as a Hygiene Operative in a manufacturing setting would be desirable
- Good understanding of health & safety requirements, including cleaning work instructions and safe systems of work
- Experience handling chemicals and understanding COSHH requirements would be desirable
- You will be required to attend relevant training courses, including Food Safety training
