About The Role:
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for maintaining an effective Quality Management System and coordinating all elements related to food safety, quality, legality and authenticity for the site. You will be reporting into the Technical Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Promote and embrace company culture and values, rules and processes across the team.
- Promote a positive Food Safety and Quality Culture and ensure the activities related are completed as per schedule.
- Maintain an effective Quality Management System for the company to ensure that the requirements of the BRCGS and any other applicable standards are met.
- Lead the QA team and Hygiene team and support with the development and coaching to ensure they foster a culture of food safety and quality.
- Ensure all activities related to pest control and hygiene are completed and schedules are followed accordingly and any non-conformance is properly managed and closed in a timely manner.
- Ensure Company HACCP Plans are up to date, relevant and implemented effectively.
- Ensure GMP procedures, as according to company policies, are being always adhered to.
- Ensure the raw material and finished product testing programme is maintained and performed as according to the schedule, for microbiological, mycotoxins, heavy metals and trace elements through off site testing.
- Promote the awareness of customers' requirements throughout the organisation.
- Ensure direct reports' activities in relation to food safety, quality, legality and integrity are carried out according to procedures in place.
- Conduct internal audits when required.
- Monitor KPIs and always ensure team compliance.
- Investigate non-conformances and complaints received from customers, determine root cause and implement corrective and preventive actions as appropriate to close in a timely manner.
- Ensure a good understanding of the Traceability System of all products to ensure the relevant information is available in the event of a Product Recall.
- Conduct compliance training.
- Support implementing and maintaining S&B Herba own production specifications and making sure specifications are met upon delivery as per requirement, in collaboration with the wider technical team.
- Support the Technical Manager and other members of the team with management of all technical aspects within S&B Herba. Liaise with the wider team to drive change and improve ways of working.
- Any other tasks necessary to ensure that the quality management system is not compromised.
About you:
Work Experience:
- At least 3-year experience in Quality positions with team leader experience.
- Internal audit experience.
- Good working knowledge of pest control.
- Desired experience with BRCGS and managing teams.
- Desired experience in milling.
Education:
- Relevant degree or equivalent working experience.
- HACCP level 3 minimum.
- Food Safety level 3 desirable.
- Full driving licence.
Technical Skills:
- Meticulous attention to detail.

- Report generation and data interpretation.
- Proficient literacy and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient numeracy skills.
